On Sunday 12th October 2008 Ship Shape staff took part in the first ever Royal Parks Half Marathon, all in aid of children’s charity UNICEF. Our runners endured a 13.1 mile route through 4 Royal Parks, taking in London’s most famous landmarks, such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament along the way.
Ship Shape would like to congratulate everyone on their brave efforts in both training and fundraising for this incredibly worthwhile cause.

The 3rd of September saw an evening of friendly competition for several fortunate clients and budding Ship Shape equestrian enthusiasts, as they tried their luck at the Kempton Races. There were some nice wins and some rather embarrassing losses on the track, but by the time the last horse had run and the last drink was drunk all agreed they’d had a highly enjoyable evening.
We’d like to thank all who came along and hope to see them again soon.

Sunday the 17th of August was a fun day in Twickenham for a select few Ship Shapers and some lucky clients when they went to watch the Rugby League match between the Harlequins and St Helens, sponsored by Ship Shape. From all accounts it was an interesting match with Harlequins winning the first half, but as predicted, St Helens won the game with a skilful come back in the second half.
Clients and staff were treated to a perk filled day of corporate hospitality in a luxury box with all the trimmings. At half time the Directors were presented with a Harlequins rugby jersey signed by all the team; a warmly received gift, which will hang in the Ship Shape barracks with pride.
Ship Shape longstanding clients; Structural Systems UK took on dizzying heights recently in their altruistic endeavour to raise money for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS). General Manager Stuart Crole and colleagues scaled Britain’s three greatest peaks; Snowden, Scaffel and Ben Nevis in 24 hours to raise over £5100 in sponsorship money for the charity. Ship Shape was one of these proud sponsors and would like to congratulate Structural Systems UK on their great charitable achievement.
On the 21st of May Ship Shape took a group of clients to FoxHills Country Club in Surrey for a day of Golf. The day teed off early with breakfast in the Manor House before embarking on the award winning Bernard Hunt 18hole course. Several players ended up chipping out of the bunkers, and searching trees for lost golf balls, but with a plentiful supply of refreshments and a hospitable half way house serving up hot bacon butties it was an enjoyable day in the British sunshine. The course ended at Bar 19 for much needed cold ‘bevies’ before the players awards ceremony and a 5star dinner back in the Manor. A very enjoyable day.
Ship Shape was proud to sponsor Robin Ellis of the award winning construction firm in his recent London to Paris charity cycle ride during which he raised more than £7,000 for cancer sufferers and their carers. Robin’s firm has been a client of Ship Shape for over 12 months
